Elected May 2015.

Judith  was born & bred in Huddersfield. She attended St Joseph’s school and then went to All Saints High School & Huddersfield Technical college. As a single parent she went back into education and gained a degree in History from Manchester Metropolitan University. Before becoming a councillor she worked in personal finance gaining financial qualifications. Judith was also a union representative for the GMB/APEX union for six years fighting for the rights of working people.

Judith has family across the ward, her grandfather grew up around Broken Cross & his extended family lived across Almondbury Lepton and Lascelles hall.  Judith's brother & his family live in the Almondbury area.

Judith says, "I believe in Equality Fairness and justice and will fight for this within the ward as well as within Kirklees. I have 4 years’ experience as a Kirklees councillor & I was proud to have been elected as the First Female Leader of the West Yorkshire fire & Rescue Service in 2014 after serving as the deputy in the previous 2 years as well as previously being the chair of the finance committee. I will bring my life experience as well as my local government experience to the ward & will be able to hit the ground running. I am known to be able to work cross party & will work in a positive manner with the 2 existing ward councillors for the benefit of the communities across the large geographical area of the ward."
