As the General Election approaches, I'm hosting a joint fundraiser in London to raise funds for all of our fantastic Kirklees candidates: as well as winning in Huddersfield we're determined to support Jane East in Colne Valley, Paula Sherriff in Dewsbury and Jo Cox in Batley and Spen.
We’re incredibly lucky to have not just one but two star guests. Alan Johnson has held numerous senior government posts including Home Secretary and Secretary of State for Education, as well as being a published author of two excellent political autobiographies, both of which will be available for signing on the night.  Liz Kendall is a rising star of the Labour Party, having previously worked representing NHS ambulance services and now serves as the Shadow Minister for Care and Older People.

Ev is a great restaurant, blending Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. The meal will be followed by an address from Alan Johnson and Liz Kendall, a raffle and an auction with prizes including posters signed by Tessa Jowell and Hilary Benn and House of Commons whisky signed by Ed Miliband. We’ll finish the evening with a musical performance by Huddersfield’s favourite folk singer, Roger Davies.

Tickets are £40 per head and open to all.  To attend, just sign up here and follow the link and select 'other amount' to donate £40 to secure your place, or £300 for a table of 8.

We look forward to seeing you there!
